3M™ Petrifilm Plates are an innovative alternative to traditional pour plate microbiology, eliminating the need to prepare laboratory media. 3M™ Petrifilm products are films coated firstly with all the nutritional elements needed for micro-organism groth and secondly with gelling agents. They are generally inoculated with 1ml of sample and are then incubated and read in the traditional manner. Petrifilm allows routine tests to be made in half the time it would normally take using traditional methods.
